Bidrage med feedbackThe Cafe is a great hidden gem in Castroville, just a block off Hwy 90, underneath tall pecan trees you will find this place. Their offerings are daily home made meals along with a varty of sandwiches and salads. Try the peach cobbler, one of the bestI've had. Safe is very friendly and service is usually fast.
It's a nice place. The outdoor dining is pleasant when it is not too hot. It is relaxing to be under the shady trees. I had a vegetarian sandwich with potato salad on the side. The sandwich was tasty. I just wish an upscale bread was used. The potatosalad was great. For dessert I had black cherry cobbler with ice cream that had a perfect sweetness. Wait staff are friendly. It's a cool place to eat.
Please be patient when visiting cafe as they are a bit short staffed but none the less, service is great and meals delicious
Food was great, very tasty. I had the Alsatian sandwich with potato salad. Wife had the Schnitzel sandwich with tortilla soup. Both were amazing. Only sad part is we could only eat 1/2 ... needed to save room for a huge portion of blackberry cobbler. Onthe down side, service was pretty slow. But to their credit, there was a sign giving notice they were short-staffed. Thewhole experience was most definitely worth the wait. Strongly recommend!
We usually get coffee next door and we kept saying that we would like to try this little cafe. We finally got the opportunity and were not disappointed. We love finding places that can make a good soup and sandwich. Their soup was literally to die for.It was amazing. Sandwich was perfect. We also had our little old dachshund with us that we were able to sit on the porch withwhile we enjoyed our lunch. The service was amazing. A sweet lady named Ori (I think that was her name, I?m sorry if it isn?t)took care of us. We will absolutely be frequenting this cafe. We drive all the way from San Antonio ??
