Il Castello Italian - Castlebar legal

I decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews I read on this site. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The food was average and overpriced for the quality. It lacked the authentic Italian flavors I was expecting. The fact that the restaurant was empty speaks volumes. Just the night before, we dined at another Italian restaurant that was crowded. I would not recommend this place.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Il Castello. The Italian pizza was delicious and authentic. The pannacotta and tiramisu were also top-notch. The service was friendly and efficient. The decor could use a refresh, but the restaurant was very clean and comfortable. We highly recommend it and can't wait to go back. Thank you.

Touring the West, found this lovely restaurant in Castlebar where we enjoyed authentic Italian food and and a great chat with the owner. Truly enjoyed the night, would recommend to anyone

We had a great meal at the restaurant. I ordered the pizza with salmon, while my girlfriend had the pumpkin risotto. Both choices were excellent. My pizza was especially delicious, better than the typical local options. The crust was light and crispy, the toppings were perfectly balanced, and it wasn't the usual messy affair. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of Italian Prosecco with our meal. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We didn’t enjoy the experience at all. I asked for a glass of wine and was told that I could only order a bottle due to Coronavirus...I asked the waitress a couple of times if she was sure and she insisted that it was bottles only. I then saw other customers getting glasses of wine. Finally another waitress came over and said that I could have a glass of wine. The chips are not steak cut as described on menu and the other food we ordered was very disappointing. We will not be returning.
