Bidrage med feedbackAlways pop in while at Towers. Coffee is consistently good. And they have butter chicken samosas - what more could you ask for! Lots of other wrap/salad options as well.
My girlfriends and i organised a brunch at the shed on what we thought would be a quiet monday. From 11am the cafe was very busy. The staff handled the busy situations with grace. Our coffee and food was great and very fast.I would recommend eating at the shed. The staff is very organised and spot on with there service.
Just discovered The Shed, a great little cafe on the lower level of Castle Towers, outside Aldi. With its nifty little table numbers displayed on a garden spade on a timber base, I enjoyed the rustic experience and the very friendly staff. Although the prices were slightly higher than Donut King (for example), the feeling was generally more "upmarket". Being more of a coffee shop, with a good range of breakfast options plus light snacks for lunch (also cakes and slices), I was impressed that their gluten free options were priced on a par with the non-gluten free varieties. And their iced coffee was great. Definitely looking forward to my next visit to The Shed.
Popped in for a quick coffee and a bite to eat.Coffee was fantastic; however, the cup would have to be the smallest Capuccino cup I have ever seen anywhere! hahaha. The poached chicken and Avocado sandwiches are delicious as well.Nice but pricey - 1 x Capuccino 1 x Coffee Frappe 2 x Poached Chicken & Avocado sandwichescost us $30.
One Sunday morning hubby and I tried The Shed located inside Castle Towers (close to Aldi, Build a Bear, Jb hifi) We had bacon brekky the previous day so (in the hopes to eat healthier) we wanted something not bacon. Place - The shed is a small kiosk with tables and seats - sort of pop up cafe. The cafe theme is - I think - farm (hence, the shed) - so there are shovels and farm stuff as decorations (theme) The area is small maybe can accommodate 20 eaters. So you can imagine how crowded it would be if there are two strollers or prams!Food - we ordered - yes, bacon and egg roll. An attempt to escape from bacon resulted to retreating back to bacon. For a start there was no enough choices here. They have bread/ pastie/ quiche displayed in their glass shelf - which were not appetising for brekky at all. Seems like more of a dessert option. There is spinach quiche which I almost ordered but looking at it from the display it seems it has been there for days - so bacon it is! Bacon and egg roll - with barbecue sauce. The serving was so small. Which was good size when you are dieting. They cooked it inside their tiny kitchen (as far as we know they cooked it when we ordered as you can hear the frying bacon spritzing) the part of bacon they served was not that great. (which I am not an expert when it comes to parts of bacon) but the bacon was just hard meat - it wasn't soft - I think it must have been defrosted then fried or has been there for a while then harden up then fried. The colour was brownish too. I didn't eat that part and cut it off. I had orange juice. My favourite is from Cosmo - freshly squeezed naval oranges. The one I had from this cafe was watered down. I am not sure if they were freshly squeezed or just set of bad oranges about to go off. Hubby ordered mocha which tasted like cappuccino with skim milk. I had a sip. I was telling him that maybe they didn't hear his order properly and the barista was confused whether it was cappuccino or mocha so he made him a "capcha" of course hubby didn't appreciate my sarcasm.Overall it wasn't a good food experience. We love to eat local. We support our local cafes. But this brekky experience has not made it to a "passed" and thus I'm not really recommending it. You are better off getting brekky roll at Maccas - yes mac cafe has better coffee too. Things need to be improved: 1. Food -the food is the core why customers would come back - this may be a healthier option cafe but the food does not deliver - create food menu that customers would come back for more - open sandwiches for example2. Coffee - the coffee was just terrible. I am certain there was a mix of our order or mix in our order - it was clearly not mocha and something else. Get the order right. I am not a barista I don't know how to make coffee but I do drink coffee so I know what or how it should taste like. 3. Service - the young bloke who served our food was obviously new - he spilt the coffee in our table a little bit - not a major drama but you know there was no regard whatsoever very careless, a typical kid. Not his fault. Should have given training. In fairness, we found the prices here cheaper than Cosmo and other cafes Castle Hill. Maybe $1.50 to $2 cheaper for the brekky roll. I guess you get what you paid for.
