Brasserie Bar le Phenix

We had a very bad meal here recently. We had some reasonable meals here a few years ago, but things seem to have slipped seriously. Should have realized when the excellent place on the square was choc a block and that was almost... empty! The starter was a buffet full of doubtful quality with cheap ingredients. The main course was fruits of beer with Tagliattelle von Dunlop completely unacceptable and strange tasting. Service was sketched, especially when it was obvious that I had not eaten my meal and was igno red for 30 minutes, although the waiter was paying attention. What with the busy traffic past a total unpleasant experience

Very amateur service like wine, but no glasses. Had a very fat omelet and flimped chips. Yuk! Also on a very lively and loud street.

We were at a friend's wedding right on the street in Pujols. Very hungry after a long journey this was one of the few places open. There were no complete menus, just some black boards that listed the specials and two “Fix Pris” options (in French)...so the waitress helpful (very friendly) what was available. My French is very average schoolboy level, but it was just enough to train the jist of dishes. We went for the special 3 cheese salad of the cook to share as a starter. I then had the jam of the duck and my partner a rare steak, both with potato and veg options. We also have a bottle of house red. Everything that came was really breathtaking. The quality of presentation and taste was excellent. I know the Fön does it well, but that was a small humble brasserie and we didn't expect so much food. The salad was excellent with a hot crepe filled with the 3 cheeses all covered in a bacon and crème sauce. All very well balanced and great taste. The duck was excellent, like all that came with it, and the steak well and tenderly cooked. We had to deal with a Crème-Brussels that was most acceptable. The wine was not stunning, but certainly very good. The only possible concern was that there were no prices. We didn't do as much as it was so good and hoped that the 3 course meal for two, with wine, was no longer that €100. We were stunned when the bill came to only € 32.00! We would have been happy if it was twice the price. If you ever call and enjoy in this area of France.

Menu mal détaillé carte des vins inexistante. pièce de bœuf immangeable, crème brulée ratée ( œuf au lait trop cuit). la cuisinière doit penser qu'elle fait de la bonne cuisine. Service très long ce qui ce conçoit vu qu'il n'y a qu'un serveur pour le bar et le restaurant. Ce dernier vante sont établissement qui malheureusement n'est pas à la hauteur de ses prétentions.

Très bon restaurant de type brasserie .Menu du jour à 14 euros, buffet d'entrées, plat et dessert .Très bon accueil .Cuisine simple mais bien préparée .Idéal pour le midi - Sobre et efficace .
