We are staying at the hotel and wanted some late lunch snacks and drinks. We went to the outside restaurant area and found an empty table the outside restaurant was not busy and we sat down at a table for two. We waited a few moments and then the waitress Susi came over and asked if we had a reservation. I said that we did not but that we were staying at the hotel. I said that we would like some drinks and food and she said that without a reservation we needed to sit in the sun not the shade. I felt that as we were English she did not want us to be in the restaurant area. I was pretty upset that we she did not want to serve us. I have been here for the week with work at the hotel and now staying with my husband for some holiday. We left and went to eat elsewhere. I spoke to the hotel and they stated the restaurant was separate to the hotel and not really interested that they did not want to serve us and could not advise how to ‘reserve’ Really poor service from both the hotel and restaurant which is a real shame but seems to be typical for English people holidaying in Spain sadly.
Myself and my friend arrived at around 19.15h on 01.04.2022. We were informed that the kitchen did not open until 20.00h and we said we were happy to wait and have a drink until food was being served. We ordered a drink each and waited until 20.00h. As we waited, all the tables around us had cutlery laid out on them except ours and none of the staff asked if we wished to order food. There were three other tables in the restaurant near us who were all served and received food whilst we were repeatedly ignored by the waitress on duty. She walked passed us several times whilst we attempted to get her attention and we were disregarded. I do not understand why the staff did not want to serve us. We are British and do not speak Spanish but I had hoped this would not have been a reason to warrant not serving us. Sadly I suspect we were ignored because we are not local. We attempted to speak Spanish and we were polite to the staff on duty. I eventually stood at the bar in order to get the waitress’ attention and was there for a long time until I was acknowledged. We had intended to eat at Embarcadero but I was so upset by the experience that I asked to pay for the drinks and we left. This is not my first visit to Castelldefels and I have experienced nothing but kindness and friendliness from everyone I have met in this town. It made me feel so sad so have been so blatantly ignored and disrespected in this way. I have emailed the restaurant directly to raise this issue with management but have not been responded to.
Mr. CHESCO was the only reason why we stayed to have Christmas Eve lunch at this restaurant, as the hostess was the rudest person we had ever encountered anywhere with no attempts to wear her mask on her nose when addressing us at a foot's distance. She was condescending, mocking our concern for social distancing and other questions about seating arrangements. Even though we had booked a table and specifically requested an outdoor table with heaters, we were never told there was no such option (even though at the time of booking, outdoor seating was one of the available options). Just as we were debating whether to stay or leave, CHESCO stepped in as though from a fairytale and saved the day by giving us the royal treatment. Thank you, Mr. Chesco! A top notch waiter who had the attention and delicate treatment of always serving from the right and who knew his craft through and through. Overall, a very expensive restaurant with very poor attention to the clientelle (unless you get lucky and are served by someone who is correct and knows their craft). We would not return here with so many options in Castelldefels /Playafels. Thank you, Mr. Chesco, you are a very classy gentleman!
We spent a very pleasant Sunday noon with friends. the frame is very pleasant with a beautiful view of the sea. Careful and warm service. food is refined. ruoz de marisco succulent. It's the second time I come. In the week, the menu is very well accompanied by a varied tasting of dishes.
