Bidrage med feedbackBeing Brazilian does not really help writing this review as Brazilians and Portugueses can be a bit funny one to another, however, that must be put aside as this place has got to be praised incessantly. I’ve lived in the UK for the last 18 years and this week I decided to visit Portugal. I ended up stopping at SóLarika to have a bite to eat, not expecting much in in all honesty. That’s why I say I was in for a shock. The place, beside being kind of small, is one of the best places to be... It seems to me that it’s a family run business and I must say that it is done to perfection. Had lunch there an amazing grilled robalo fish, some fried prawns, salt cod balls, amongst other things (Yes, I was starving) and a friend had some pork stroganoff which o was told was spot on. It was all amazing... I was first served by a lovely lady Who I assume to be the wife. Tons of attention had been dispensed at me by the gentleman, who I assume to be the husband, and both of them kept on checking whether it was all up to standards from beginning to end. Paid for the bill (which was surprisingly affordable) and left to go sightseeing. When coming back to the hostel where I’m staying, I decided to stop by for a drink... This time around, the lovely couple were not there but their son, one of the best people I have ever come across in customer service, had taken over the shift. He recognised me which was amazing, greeted me and brought me the menu. I said I’d love to have a drink but was unsure of what to order... That’s when the “surprise” gets even more “surprising”... He asked me what kind of flavor I liked and once I said to this enchanting young man that I would love to have a refreshing tropical drink, he then said: do not worry, I will prepare you a cocktail which you will love... Off he went and in about 5 minutes he came back with this cocktail which was not only perfection, but it blew me away. By the way, the place was very busy then, yet, the service was outstanding. I then said I’d like to eat something and described what I felt like eating the lovely young waiter, not only went through the menu with me. It catered to my likings!!! I felt part of the Royal Family then!!! The drink and the food were so amazing that I went for seconds and guess what?! It was even better... Besides the brilliant food and drink, the service was mesmerising... He kept on checking on me and, which made me feel even more welcomed, asked whether I was having a good time in Portugal. Friendly and competent are understatements!!! Make sure you visit SóLarika and try their specialties!!! They are to die for... By the way, this wonderful waiter is called Pedro!!! You’d be more than pleased should you ever have the opportunity to be taken care of by him!!! The place is 100 out of 100!!! Great atmosphere... Great everything!!! Do visit it!!!
Solarika it 's very good in Portuguese snails, toast, beef, and snacks. The Francesinha it 's a must. At lunch time they have cheap daily lunches.
I spent 5 days in Carcavelos and I literally had most of my meals here. It’s a place where you could enjoy the down-to-earth (or home-cooked) Portuguese meal. Especially the daily lunch menu, very tantalizing.
