Glass Terrace Sheraton Cascais Resort

We went to Sunday brunch in June 2021. I had read a description of the brunch online, but that description was definitely out of date. The setting is lovely, the staff are helpful. But overall the experience was a disappointment, far short of what I expect at a 5 star hotel at a price of €49 per person. Better brunch can be had in Cascais at half the price. From the information I had seen online and previous experience, I expected a sort of buffet with a choice of foods offered. But no, it is a set menu with the food served to the diners at the table and a menu with little imagination. For example, only scrambled eggs were served, eggs Benedict or an omelette were not offered. Only bacon, no sausage or ham. Only two meat main items. Only pancakes were served, no crepes or waffles. There was however a nice selection of pastries and breads, but there is a limit on how much bread one can eat. At this time of year, Portugal has a wonderful variety of fresh fruit such as cherries, strawberries, plums, etc. but none of this was on offer. I had to ask for some fresh fruit and received some sliced melon and pineapple, which was nice, but I had expected that at a 5 star Sunday Brunch the fruit would have been included. There was no choice offered on the dessert course, we were simply served three pastries/cakes, items which if they had been on a buffet table I would not have selected. Finally, my partner asked for a second cup of coffee, and we were charged €5 extra. It seems awfully mean to charge €49 and then charge extra for a second cup of coffee. The hotel seems worried about getting paid they required that I make an international bank transfer to their account before confirming the reservation. Why not just ask for a credit card to confirm the reservation, as I would think a international chain would. Perhaps the pandemic has changed things, but even allowing for that, this experience was a disappointment.

Dinner very poor value, the food was cold and limited. The dinner staff are amazing! and served amazing Sangria the morning staff are terrible, under staffed and slow, breakfast items are cold and limited i asked for poached eggs which were lovely when we arrived but took forever

I have been to this restaurant several times. I enjoy the environment with sunshine very much. The food is tasty and the service is nice. Today I ordered a salmon hamburger which was very juicy and crispy. But the French fries were so slim. What a pity! Everything was perfect except the French fries.

Our meals where perfect. Everything was warm and it looked very appealing. The grilled salmon was done to perfection, skin nice and crisp. Service was very friendly and helpful
