Bidrage med feedbackWe regret that our experience did not live up to the positive reviews shared by others. We ordered takeout for several people, hoping we might finally discover a decent Chinese restaurant in Carson City. Unfortunately, the duck was overcooked and quite dry. The chow fun lacked flavor, and the eggplant was both mushy and bland. The beef and broccoli dish was acceptable, and the Mongolian beef was actually quite good. However, the shrimp chow mein was terrible—the shrimp was even mushier than the eggplant and had an unpleasant texture, as if it had been frozen and then improperly thawed. Overall, most of the dishes we tried were not palatable. While the staff was friendly, regrettably, the food did not meet expectations. It was a significant expense for a considerable disappointment.
I first tried pot stickers over 40 years ago in Kowloon, and the ones at China Bistro tonight were just as delicious as those early memories. The other dishes we ordered, including steamed buns, Hunan beef, and shrimp chow mein, were all outstanding as well. To make things even better, you can call ahead (their menu is available online), and your food will be ready for pickup at their drive-through window (which was formerly a Burger King) in just 15 minutes. Not bad at all for Carson City!
Always a pleasure! This is my favorite restaurant.
