Pangaea Grill - Carmel-by-the-Sea

Great spot to have breakfast or brunch before the crowds start in Carmel. They have a lot of mimosa flavors, I got the strawberry given that they are in season. I paired it with the Eggs Benedict, which was super tasty and filling. It came with fruit and potatoes, so I got everything I needed and more with that plate. I sat by the fireplace and read my book, and truly had once of the most relaxing mornings.

Food was good. The menu featured a wide selection of dishes, which is usually a sign of less than mediocre food but I was pleasantly surprised. All the dishes ordered were tasty and featured hearty portion sizes. Nothing stood out (in a great or poor way). Service was attentive. We came when it was almost 1p and the place was still bustling. Ambience: Decor inside was nice and modern. One item to note is there was always a wait at the restroom potentially since there aren't many public restrooms in Carmel. Value: The prices ranged from $10 $20 dish, which isn't bad at all in a touristy town like Carmel. I'd highly recommend this place to any travelers who are looking for good food off the main street in Carmel, especially families that have differing cuisine preferences.

They were able to take us, 11 people, in without a reservation on a busy lunchtime. I had to wait around 15-20 min more for my food, omelette platter with a side of bacon, to arrive. My favorite was the spicy Korean kimchi fried rice. Their Eggs Benedict were good, too, especially the salmon one. The portions were big. Overall, we had a good hearty meal.

I had a wonderful experience at this elegant restaurant, where I enjoyed a delicious breakfast with great presentation. The location is superb, as it is situated in the center of the area with easy walking access to shops and the beach. What truly made my experience special was the friendly and attentive staff who provided exceptional service. The energetic and positive atmosphere with beautiful decorations added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. I highly recommend Pangaea Grill Restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Carmel by the Sea. The food, service, and atmosphere are all outstanding, and I will definitely be returning for another meal.

Ordered the fish tacos for myself and it was good but I wouldn’t recommend it. Although the fish quantity was generous, the tortilla limited the enjoyment of the taco as it tasted really bland and wasn’t heated. It tasted like any grocery store tortilla. The Korean grilled pork that my friend ordered was delicious however. I wish I had ordered that for myself. The ambience and atmosphere of the restaurant was super cute!
