Masonmill - CARMEL

This restaurant used to be good, but it was very disappointing. I understand that we are in a pandemic, but they no longer offer table service and have switched to a buffet setup. Other cafes and restaurants are still able to provide table service and serve a decent breakfast. The toast was cold and rock hard, the poached eggs were overcooked and completely ruined. Overall, the experience was very average and I won't be returning to this restaurant.

The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are fantastic. However, I ordered poached eggs cooked very soft, which I specifically requested on the sales docket. Unfortunately, they were overcooked.

My family and I went to Masonmill on our motorcycles for coffee and cake, but were met with extremely rude service from a waitress. She insisted we go to the beer garden instead of the restaurant for coffee. When we tried to order almond cappuccinos in the beer garden, we were again told to go back to the restaurant. Frustrated, we settled for regular cappuccinos which tasted awful. We will not be returning to Masonmill and recommend avoiding it altogether.

Went for high tea and it was a very pleasant experience. Our lady that served us was called Shelley and she went above and beyond with her service to us. When we first walked in she welcomed us individually not just as a group which I found very personal. Took a photo of us without having to ask and was very warm and friendly the whole time. Not once did we feel rushed or we needed to leave. Thanks Shelley your were wonderful and we will definitely come back.

Family took us for morning tea after visiting Lesmurdie Falls. Didn't know the area and was very impressed with the beautiful grounds, friendly and helpful manager and staff and lovely food. The grandies loved feeding the Koi fish. Will definitely visit again soon when the garden is in bloom.
