Bidrage med feedbackDimattina's is an ideal choice for a date night. The restaurant is spacious, yet cozy, with larger parties usually using the function space while smaller groups dine in the main area. The attentive staff ensured our drinks were always filled and gave excellent wine recommendations to complement our meal. We began with a delicious salami platter, featuring a selection of cold cuts, olive tapanade, and crustinis. It was a perfect start to our dinner! My main course, the Pappardelle Dimattina, was a pasta dish with chicken, avocado, pesto, spring onions, and rose sauce. While I didn't realize I wasn't a fan of pesto, the dish was still enjoyable. I look forward to returning to try other menu options in the future.
I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant with C and a few friends. I wanted to choose a classy venue for my birthday, and since I love Italian cuisine, we decided to go to DiMattina's. C and I had previously dined at DiMattina's for a lunch on Lygon Street and had a great experience. The birthday dinner was also enjoyable, although I don't remember all the details clearly as we started with cocktails and had a few more drinks. Despite the noise and crowding on a Saturday night, we had a good time indulging in delicious pasta and dessert. The noise level in the restaurant was high, with the sound bouncing off hard surfaces and causing our table to wobble. The service was decent considering the circumstances, but for my next birthday, I plan to choose a quieter venue to have a more intimate conversation with my guests. Perhaps I am just feeling a bit nostalgic about getting older and finding fault with the noise level.
Last year, my husband, brother-in-law, and I visited Dimattina's before heading back to the US. It came highly recommended by a family member, and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed a delicious seafood platter to start, and my brother-in-law raved about his gnocchi zucca with pumpkin puree, sage, and leek. It was a memorable meal that we all loved.
Good choice for family gathering or fds' gathering. The linguine is really delicious w fresh all kinds of seafood. My bro like their garlic bread very much. We sat outside and didn't realize that all seats inside are fully occupied until we finished our dinner. Thx for my fds' good recommendation.
I was going to go 3 but changed my mind. As the other reviews say, the place is great, friendly, good wine, broad menu selection for a non-la parchettas italian restaurant. The only hick up for me was that, over the past 3 years I have eaten there about 8 times; on average the menu has stayed the same which -as I have a skewed pallet- limits me to the pumpkin gnocchi that has halved in size and now has an 'out of the jar ' feel. However, my wife 's meal was fantastic, everything else was wonderful, it was just that one thing that has turned me away from possibly going back.
