Bidrage med feedbackWent to Maria's because it was the only restaurant in Cape town with more than 2 ratings on this app at the time. The waiter was rude, unaccommodating, and very annoyed at my quesions. He stated multiple times there was high risk of cross-contamination, so when I opted out of eating, he said he'd recommend I have the calamari and salad with no chips. Even though the chips are in a gluten free fryer, they are still likely contaminated. I went with the recommendation and the calamari was like rubber. Very underwhelming. Also cockroaches scuttling around.
Had a delicious Sunday lunch there. The menu is clearly listed and staff were friendly, willing and able to answer my questions about sauces and preparations. Confirmed the chips were cooked in a seperate fryer from the fried fish. My calamari was amazing. Enjoyed my meal and experience as usual.
We enjoyed the food so much, we ate at Maria’s twice during our visit. We had the Greek salad, Halloumi Grilled, Kalamari Grilled, Kalamari Mediterranio, Humus and Dolmathes all delicious!! We also had the Greek coffee and the chocolate cake (on both visits). The food was delicious; the service was excellent; and best of all I did not get a headache.
GF options listed, waiter told me fries were cooked in GF fryer, enjoyed the grilled calamari, chicken, grilled halloumi : service was very friendly
