Bidrage med feedbackBeen here many times dating back to the previous owners . It is a Cape May landmark nestled on the always busy Jackson Street area . It is a fun place with interesting toppings and names for hot dogs , other salad options specifically tuna and varied frozen sodas . Warning ….if you go there prime time , namely 12- 2 , be prepared to wait ..and wait …..and wait . If the line is around the corner , you are seriously looking at 30 -40 minutes . No exaggeration . The line does not move fast . Are the hot dogs good? Yes they are . Is it worth the wait ? Heck no in my opinion. I would clearly suggest going early or after 3 or you will be questioning your sanity by the time you get your food

We love a good hot dog. We were excited to try this place that had a never ending line to order! The menu is great, tons of crazy toppings, two kinds of hot dogs, sides, bowls, etc. Anyway, we waited on line for about 15 minutes, ordered four big bad dogs with different toppings and an order of fries. The we waited for another 10 minutes or so for the food. Well, the hot dog it self did taste good. The toppings... we had one with chili and mustard, one with chili, cheese and mustard, one with relish, light sauerkraut and mustard and one with mustard and sauerkraut. First... there was barely and mustard on any dog. Next, there was barely any chili on the chili dogs. Finally, the buns were so thick, I had to pull chunks off to be able to actually taste the dog! So, in closing, it wasn 't worth the hype for us and probably won 't go back.

I know it sounds strange to go to “Hot Dog Tommy’s” when you don’t eat meat, but we saw the Vegan Dog on the menu and had to try it. Delicious! Closest to a real hot do we’ve ever had. One with cheddar, baked beans and onions, the other with kraut and mustard. There was no line when we went (a Saturday in June, at 12:30), but we did see a pretty long line the day before. The ordering process is pretty fast, so even with a line it probably wouldn’t take too long. Great, cheap eats at the beach!
