The Flour Monkey - CAPALABA

We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and were pleasantly surprised. As soon as we walked in, a very polite young lady greeted us without the usual subtle pressure of asking what we would like. She was very courteous and once we made our decision, we were promptly served with our delicious pies and sausage roll. It was a pleasant surprise to find a place where both the service and the food were truly top-notch. Well done!

The only reason I visit Capalaba Central is for the restaurant. The bread is fantastic and the pull-aparts are superb. The staff are very attentive and friendly. Just looking at the desserts makes me gain 5 pounds! The pies are the best in the area.

I am disappointed to report that Flour Monkey's Capalaba store has closed since my last review. However, they still have two other locations at Belmont/Carina and Carindale along Creek Rd near the Metropol Shopping Centre. I contacted the owner to inquire about a possible relocation in the Redlands area, but for now, there are no plans. Nevertheless, I can only praise their delicious pies, hot coffee, and the very friendly and efficient staff at the Capalaba store when it was open.

Go here every time in Capalaba, can't wait for one of their hot hot tasty pies. Buttery pastry, chunks of meat, perfectly flavoured. Cold drinks and hot tasty coffee.

They have a good variety of sandwiches and rolls: being vegetarian, my favourite is egg and lettuce. All the bread is baked on the premises, and is real bread, not cotton wool. Very pleasant staff. They are always busy, and deserve to be!
