Bidrage med feedbackA group of five of us had lunch here, and to be frank, my expectations were not high for a restaurant located right at a major tourist site. But we discovered the the service was fairly quick (considering there were two large tables of guests already there) and definitely friendly. Everyone enjoyed their meals; I had a mussel pasta which was perfectly done and delicious. Prices were quite reasonable considering the location. All in all, a pleasant surprise for all of us!
On our escorted trip, we had an hour for lunch so decided to try one of the pizzerias close to the temples. We had two very large pizzas that were lovely , a mixed salad, beer, mineral water and red wine . The restaurant is relatively simple, but we enjoyed the location and setting. Very reasonably priced pizzas 7 to 8 euros and large beers 4 euros, far cheaper than in Sorrento.
Loved the fresh pizza with the thin crust or thick, the Caprese Salad with Buffalo Mozzarella, but my favourite was the Mussels soup. Service was great and the food extremely satisfying. It also offers a great location with a view of the Roman Forum, how often can you sit in front of a monument several Millenia in age while dining. It lets you soak it all in while contemplating humanities never ending ingenuity.
Very friendly and helpful staff. the dishes on average and maybe even something extra. right account and strategic position. a good place to stop.
I am only reviewing the restaurant, we did not use the lodging here. It was honestly a little bit funny how bad the service was at this place. It's a tourist trap restaurant, perfect position, and the pizza was OK, but to be stuck in a restaurant for one hour and 45 minutes for OK pizza? Not worth it! I speak Italian, I asked where our food was after about 45 minutes, it still took another 20 minutes. It was weird, because some people around us were waiting longer, some got their food a little quicker, but the wait staff, all of them, just seemed unhappy and irritated. Maybe it's because they deal with hundreds of tourons everyday, however, there are many bigger tourist traps where the people are kind. Go in town, pay less, get better food.
