Confusing that they don't have alcohol on the menu, but a corking fee... but a sign that you can't bring your own drinks... but people ordered beer and wine after we had ordered water... Then the steaks are $55 to $85 ... We won't go back...
What a fantastic place with one of the best food and service we've ever had. Waitress was amazing, super kind and just overall a nice human being. We ordered garlic and butter shrimp which came with soup, salad, rice and mashed potatoes $15), friend got the rellenos with rice and beans $10) Portions are huge here. Chips and salsa were amazing
The food here was some of the best I've had in El Paso. The steaks have really good seasoning. Only criticism is to stick with your hours you have posted.
So finally tried out Victoria's in Canutillo and it was good, with a couple of caveats and tips. The food was delicious. We got complementary chips and salsa, and there were 2 kinds of salsas, one Tex Mex tomato based (think canned chunky salsa and the other more roasted chilies and tomatillo based (more traditional Mexican . Both were delicious and the chips were fresh and homemade, not stale. We also ordered 2 agua frescas limon, which was a watered down version of lemonade. It was huge, but tasted like water with a little lime. I wouldn't get this again for the price, and would just get water or soda. I also saw a lot of people bring their own beer and wine, there is a corkage fee here for both. They provide ice and a bucket for your beer and cups for your wine. The lentil soup came out about halfway thru (20 mins and was delicious and filling but I didn't eat much, because I wanted to save room for the entree. We got refills for our chips and salsas 3x while waiting. The meat entrees were a bit more expensive than I was led to believe in the online menus with plates starting around $26. It's pretty comparable to some higher end steak houses here. It's funny how arrachera meat (skirt/flank beef is so inexpensive in SoCal and brisket is hard to find and expensive, yet in El Paso, it's the opposite, brisket is easy to find and flank/skirt steak is one of the more expensive cuts. Hubby wanted the ribeye, but I convinced him to get the arrachera. I got a fish filet (filet de pescado and you got to choose the sauce: Mojo de Ajo, Veracruzana, a la Paradilla, a la Diabla, a la Mantequilla, Empanizado, or Poblano sauce. I didn't know what half of those styles meant, but I fell in love with the way that seafood is prepared locally with Mojo de Ajo and went with that (can't get too much garlic! . The $30 12 oz arrachera plate came on a wooden board, very well presented with a baked potato covered in white cheese, a half of an avocado sliced, a naked house salad with crumbly white cheese, and a soy marinated roasted jalapeno (toreado . It was cooked perfectly medium rare, very tender and yet lightly charred. It was delicious and hubby thanked me for recommending that instead of the ribeye. It was seasoned on the salty side, but I guess the salad was to offset that. My $13 pescado plate was delicious. It came with mashed potatoes, a naked house salad with crumbly white cheese, and Mexican style rice. The sides were some of the best I've had, the potatoes creamy, the salad bright and fresh, and the rice fluffy and flavorful. The fish was soft and flaky, but also crisp on the outside. It was topped with bits of fried garlic and red pepper chunks and of course the garlic oil. The aftertaste was bit fishy so I'm not sure what type of fish was used. Hubby liked it and he doesn't like fish, so the flavoring won him over. We went on a Friday night at 6:30pm. Don't do it, because you'll be waiting at least 30 mins to be seated. We were lucky to be seated as a table of 4 in 15 mins. but saw another family wait over 30 mins just to be seated. We ended up finishing at 8:30pm. If you're a larger group, be prepared to be split up to be seated since the tables accommodate up to 6 max. The entrees took a very long time to come: 38 mins to be exact. You get unlimited salsa and chips to munch on in the meantime, and they gave us some soup with our entrees, but we ended up asking them to just give the kids their simple order of rice and beans because after that long of a wait, they weren't satisfied with just chips anymore. The wait staff was polite and very busy. Be patient, you can see they were working non stop and the older gentleman (owner? was bussing the tables. We tipped well because it wasn't their fault that the kitchen was slow. It also wasn't just our table but everyone's overall entrees that took time. I would definitely come back to try out their other dishes, it was a great assortment of styles and the food was very well done, and the prices are good for the non steak items..our bill came out to be around $75, rice and beans for the kids were $7 a plate, which is very pricey. For the atmosphere and the wait, there are definitely other spots that would satisfy your cravings without the strangers staring at you waiting for you to vacate while you wait for your food since the place is so small, lol. But if you don't mind waiting, the food is delicious and worth it. I would just recommend checking out Google map's wait times to come at a slower time and bring patience. Come out and #supportlocal
I think this place is under new ownership. The restaurant is named differently and the waitress said they were not associated with the previous restaurant. The menus were kinda dirty and the lemonade tasted kinda funky. I ate the combination plate and the food was ok. Not really good but not bad.
