The Heron - Canterbury

Highly recommend the heron. Had dinner with my family and it was amazing! All fresh and home cooked. Kids are free too so that was a bonus. Desserts are all homemade and amazing. Staff very friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble.

Rubbish staff and Rubbish food. Treated so badly after asking for food to be changed, cold. Asked my sister to leave and barred hole family. We had used this pup on so many occasions for my mums wake and mothers day dinner but never again.

Lovely tasty food and good portion sizes. Able to cater for large groups and parties. Sunday roast is the best in town. Lovely garden when the weather is dry.

Possibly now my favourite local place! Came here for afternoon tea with 5 friends so 6 of us in total after it was recommended. This was for my birthday. We had an absolutely lovely afternoon. Waitress serving us was so sweet and could not do enough for us. Guy behind bar was the same. Food was amazing. The portions were absolutely huge, couldn’t believe how generous they were. And loved that tea was served in traditional crockery. Best afternoon tea I’ve ever had (and we’ve had a few! and will definitely be returning here. Thank you so much for a wonderful birthday afternoon.
