Messina - Canicatti

If in Sicily, avoid this place as there is really nothing to do here! The only thing we did was find a shop that sold Uno card game. Mist things were shut, saw the clock tower, walked around, everything was shut on the Saturday afternoon and that was about it! It was something to do so we drove on....

We hunted for our favorite Italian pastry Sfogliatella all over Sicily. We were so sad when we had been told by all the bakeries in Taormina that it can only be found in northern Italy. And then eureka! We stumbled across them in this wonderful bakery in our Grandmother's home town. The owners were charming and welcomed us warmly. The pastries were heavenly! We ate them the second we bought them!
