Bidrage med feedbackSo I went with my friends yesterday we were looking for somehting to eat and one of them suggested to go to melaza, to get a shrimp pizza we got there, I ordered a soda and nothing few moments later the waiter comes back, I told him we wanted the shrimp pizza and he said that yesterday the were only selling this certain dinner, I thought it was rude, because there was no sign of notice outside of the restaurant or something like that, he said he'll ask his manager to see if the can make an exception and they did but he took forever to come back, the pizza was really good although it took a while to get to our table and the place was pretty much empty. The waiter was kind of nice at the beginnig but then I felt like they already wanted us to leave, I also told one of my friends how I felt and we werent completely done with our meal and they started picking up the stuff from our table. In an uncomfortable way. They offered us while waiting some chips with salsas, the green salsa was good and also two mini drinks to try one was made of beans and shrimp broth it was good, the other one was alcohol with mint and watermelon.but again the pizza, was really good.
We went to Melaza after the movies on a late Sunday night. Luckily for us their kitchen closes at 1:00 a.m and we were able to enjoy their delicious stuffed portobello and ribeye steak! Even though it was late, our server Eduardo took very good care of us and the manager, Manuel came to say hello. We really like this place, I wish we'd come earlier to enjoy more of their food!
We just ate here. I would literally fly back to Cancun JUST for the oysters. I HATE oysters normally, but these oysters are plucked while live in a tank, shucked, meticulously cleaned, and then grilled to perfection. I suggest the a Las brasas. The Rockefeller was good, but it was like making a piña colada with aged sipping rum... it obscured the amazing flavor of these magical oysters. We also had: Pulpo Zarandeado- This was apparently pretty spicy, so I asked for it to be less spicy, because we are wusses. The flavor was delicious, but it was sadly a bit chewy. I was pretty heartbroken, because I love some good pulpo. The salad was lemony and fresh, and for those of us who are paranoid after experiencing Moctezuma's revenge, they DO clean their vegetables with colloidal silver. So far, no tummy issues. Chicharron Atun- I was shocked at the flavor packed in these little chunks of tuna, served with shredded lettuce, avocado, pickled onions, cilantro, & homemade tortillas. SUPER tasty, and unlike any other fish tacos I've ever had. Camarones el mojo de ajo- Again, flavor is UNBELIEVEABLY delicious, but slightly overcooked. The aioli was a really quite lovely when paired with the garlic and herb butter. The Corazon de Habana (mojito) is legitimately the best mojito I've ever had. So so so good. The Guaikiki (I probably murdered the spelling) is the quintessential island drink. I could drink those poolside all day, every day. Also had the Yaki, which is mezcal, Ancho chile, and is just really an interesting, exotic drink. The more I drank it, the more I loved it. Overall, this place is great... the service was some of the best I've ever had. We wanted for nothing. All of this food & drink, plus 2 bottles of water was about 75 usd. This quality of seafood in the US would have easily fetched 250.Oysters. Trust me. They are so good
