Good local Chinese w chili bark, various sizzlers w special sauces, and other standard flushes. all well done w nice cheapish winelist.

This place is surrounded by trendier restaurants--a couple specialising more on lunch. The facade looks a little tired (although I understand it's being renovated), and it does takeaway, so one might be tempted to pass it by. However, it's definitely worth the stop.The service is super-fast, while still being friendly. The place is licensed (though only house wines by the glass--labels by the bottle), and the menu sumptuous. I'd rate their short soup the best in Canberra. The same with their fried rice. The mains run the usual range from seafood to beef, lamb, chicken and duck. The satays are a particular highlight, as is the roast duck--more glazed than one often finds, and not a hint of sogginess.The atmosphere and comfort bely the humble exterior. The crowd usually seems to include Canberratocracy, showing that the locals have found this place and keep coming back. We've been back three times in the two weeks since we found it.

Stopped in here for a "quickie"dinner during the week. Wasn't expecting much...but wow. The service was good, the food was great and the effort to bring the restaurant up from the "70's" feel was apparent. I'll go back again :)

Lovely meals and staff, prompt service and reasonably priced. Try Hot pots and combination short soup available but not on menu, same with Chinese spinach.

On entry this restaurant smelled of wet carpet and the decor is very 70"s with sticky taped picture frames on the wallsThe fiod was good with very tired and dated menu. Wine selection very good I shared a main and entree of garlic prawns and shantung chicken with rice and left still hungry - the food I did have whileSmall in Portion, the food was quite good- unfortunately the uninspiring decor and lack of ambience lets this restaurant down
