The Dirty Vodka Martini was a standout. The olives in it added a burst of flavor that took it to the next level. It's amazing how much a good olive can elevate the whole Martini experience! Overall good vibes and music would recommend Price per person: A$60–80 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
I couldnt recommend this placehighly enough. The effortlessly cool yet super friendly staff gave us charming service and regaled us with great stories about the wines we chose and are obviously passionate about their jobs. The aged Riesling we chose was deiicous and seemed way too elegant for the price... The food was *chef's kiss* The anchovy toast with sauce gribiche and the smoked ox tongue in particular were to die for (ok maybe not die but there are a few people I would kill to get at those dishes again.. . We had an amazing time and would highly recommend this under rated gem of a spot for a quiet intimate dinner or a celebration with friends.
Last night, we indulged in an exquisite dining experience at Bar Rochford, undoubtedly one of Canberra's premier hospitality venues. The culinary journey began with a tantalizing array of starters, including delectable ox tongue skewers, refreshing radish tart, delicate kingfish sashimi, and succulent lamb ribs dressed in a fusion of Middle Eastern and Chinese flavors. Our main course featured a luscious vegetarian pasta, aptly named Orecchiette, though it leaned more towards Gnocchetti; nevertheless, it was a culinary delight. Complementing the culinary adventure was an impressive wine list boasting a selection of classic artisanal growers, thoughtfully curated for easy navigation. Our choice, the Peron La Petit Robe 2020, a superb Jacquere vin nature, proved to be an excellent accompaniment to the meal. However, a slight discrepancy in the vintage—advertised as 2018 but served as 2020 but we weren't advised of the change, might have influenced our selection. Despite this minor hiccup, Bar Rochford remains a stellar destination in Canberra for exceptional dining experiences.
