Alice Peppers Steak House - Camrose

The decor is so cool in this spot! I adore a good Steampunk theme so when I heard about this place we definitely had to check it out. The cool decked out guitar and old auger drill, plus the rotating gear right in the front entrance. I loved that the bar side also has a good steam feel with a huge gear backdrop for the stage and decor right by the men's and women's bathrooms too. The food did come out pretty fast, we were recommended the ribs and they were so tender they fell off the bone. And the Steampunk sauce was really flavourful, not too spicy for the kids. We ordered it with sides of beans, cornbread, and coleslaw. All of the sides were pretty good. My kids ordered the chicken strips and fries, and I liked the fries that they use but they were not cooked enough, nor salted enough. Chicken was hot and crispy though. We also came during appt hour and ordered the cactus cuts, but these were a bit of a disappointment to be honest. The rest of the menu looked like classic pub food. High chairs and booster seats were available, but no baby change table in the bathroom.

Steampunk cafe's ambiance is incredibly cool with a lot of interesting things to look at and also touch. The atmosphere is very inviting. The food is very reasonably priced and delicious the portions are definitely large I end up packaging some up for home everytime. The service is generally pretty good depending on how busy it is. There is only one server working one area be it the cafe the lounge or the bar. I highly recommend giving this hidden gem a try.

Service was ok. Food was not. Charging as much as they do for a steak and not be able to prepare it medium. First came out blood rare. It was still moving on the plate. Sent it back and then it was very well done. Got it right on the third attempt. Unfortunately I won't be back to try a fourth. I can mess up a steak at home way cheaper.

First time I have eaten here. Had the fish and chips. Excellent! The only thing missing was malt vinegar.

We had burgers in the restaurant and they were delicious!! I'd eat there again. It is an older hotel and you can smell a bit of cigarette smoke in the restaurant. The bar smells like an ashtray... so if you don't like the smell of smoke... don't go in. Lol Service: 3 Location: 3
