Ardshiel - Campbeltown

We were only at the restaurant. Great! We had great dinners. Starter, mains and desserts were very delicious. Food drinks: Great meals, beers, and single malts! Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic

Given that the Ardshiel is an institution in Campbeltown we were excited to stay but other than the whisky bar (incredible selection with very fair pricing) we were underwhelmed by the food, service and especially the rooms (renovated, but to the bare minimum standards with very uncomfortable beds). In the end if we'd gotten some cheer or a smile from at least one staff member that could have helped us to overlook the lackluster food and rooms, but everyone was so stiff and dour that we were relieved to only be staying one night. Summary: amazing whisky selection but recommended to eat and sleep elsewhere.

This place never fails, have you even been to Campbeltown if you haven’t had a meal in the Ardshiel!? : )Probably my fourth time here over the past three years, even through Covid the consistency in quality of food and service never fails. Also kid friendly and dog friendly but advise you to book especially at the weekends as it gets busy! Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

A lovely hotel updated washrooms and thoughtfully decorated rooms. It’s a treat to stay in a place that hangs onto its history so tastefully! The whisky bar is unparalleled and the full breakfast in the morning was delicious! Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
