Bidrage med feedbackThe dining scene in Camden is known for its high standards, but our experience at Pig and Poet fell short. We ordered fried chicken and shrimp and grits. The chicken lacked seasoning and was bland, while the accompanying cookie was not evenly heated. The shrimp and grits arrived at different temperatures, with the shrimp being cold and the grits being watery and warm. The potatoes served with the chicken were a highlight, but overall, we were disappointed that a $60 meal did not meet our expectations.
We love Pig and Poet and are frequent diners. Patrick runs a wonderful restaurant and Manny is a great waiter. Always attentive and remembers what we like to eat and drink. The food is inventive and delicious. When we dine on Thursday night, I got a phone call that my mother died. Patrick and Manny have done a wonderful job to calm me down and arrange for our food to take with us. Tonight, the 21st October, we eat for the last night of the season 2017. It will be hard to say good mood for friends and fabulous food, but we are already looking forward to 2018.
I had fried chicken. The chicken was hard and playful tasting staff very apologetic and refunded dinner price.
Lovely space and creative menu, but the service was less than hospitable from the moment we arrived. Host was downright rude and server was disinterested. Hard to imagine why we would return.
Pig Poet exceeded our expectations. I'd heard it was good, and we were staying in Whitehall, the Inn where it's located. I've rarely found restaurants in hotels where I've stayed to be impressive. Pig Poet impressed us both an omnivore and a vegetarian. Appetizers, entrees, dessert and cocktails all were delicious and beautiful, prepared with care and extremely fresh, excellent ingredients. On a busy Wednesday, the service was terrific, too.
