04/27/2024-This is my first time at Mr. Henry’s Restaurant in WDC! I have literally lived in the DMV since 1968! A former classmate Kathy Speight used to perform at Mr. Henry’s and never hit a chance to see her. This visit was great! We had tickets for the 8 pm show upstairs. We orders food and drinks! I enjoyed networking and all of the Brazillian singers! The musicians were awesome! We arrived at 6 pm early enough to find good street parking and find a good seat upstairs before the 8 pm showtime! It was a little cold upstairs but the place quickly filled up prior to 8 pm! The entertainment lasted til 11pm! No area for dancing, just listening style!
Neighborhood staple with solid (if unimpressive) burgers, good service and a prime location
You know that feeling of walking into a neighborhood pub with decades old photos on the wall and a super friendly bartender behind the bar? If you don't know (or want to experience it again), go here! This is the quintessential neighborhood pub experience where Bob (one of the bartenders) will bend himself into a pretzel to make you feel welcome and the food is exactly what you expect for pub grub. Also, the pickles are strangely good even though they claim they're not homemade. Each pickle chip has a slightly different spice taste which reminds me of homemade. Regardless, the point is that I'm giving 5 stars because this is the kind of neighbor pub that requires the right mix of staff, patrons, and the willingness to have a good time... So drop in and enjoy a Ruben, beer, and a chat!
We went for the music, and we weren't disappointed. Lucas Netto Quartet, were fantastic, four very talented musicians.Music started at 20:00 doors opened at 18:00 and filled quickly at 19:30. The waitress did well to keep up. Great selection of draught beers, food was good. We had a great night here and will be back.
