Bidrage med feedbackGreat food, no matter what you want to order, iv been going there over the last 5 years .
Fish King is a mom and pop, family run business that offers breakfast and lunch. It's a smaller restaurant so only takeout is available. I stopped by for the first time to try them out for breakfast and was highly pleased with the food. You can call ahead and place an order but because it was my first time I went in to order. There was a bit of a line when I arrived but the service was fairly quick so I didn't wait too long. For food, I tried the veggie omelet, which comes with mushroom, green pepper, onion, tomatoes and cheese (no onion or tomato for me), toast, and grits. Though a fairly simple meal, it was cooked to perfection just the right amount of toppings and seasoning. My friend tried the bacon, egg, and cheese on croissant and it came with grape jelly on it. Me mentioned that he wish they hadn't added the grape jelly. Overall, I would certainly return for breakfast or to even try them out for lunch. If you're over on or near Rhode Island Ave, be sure to stop by to support this small business!
I am OBSESSED. This is the closest thing I've seen in DC that reminds me of a New York Bodega. I passed by this on the street and stopped inside. The options from American Breakfast platters to sandwiches (egg sandwiches, wraps, subs, etc) really was a piece of nostalgia for me. And one of the best parts is... it's not overpriced. I got the Whiting fish sandwich. They are generous with their portions. I got 2 pieces of Whiting fish for 7 dollars (and they added a little bit more also) which was absolutely incredible. The tartar sauce was one of my favorites. I also got the potato salad and wolfed it down. I think I found my new spot to go to. Go and support this place. I believe it's a small-owned family business. The food is amazing and you will NOT regret it.
I can only speak for their fried whiting, but it's very good and fried fresh to order! They seem to have a very loyal clientele...including me.
Food is acceptable, been coming here the last two years but if you guys can’t afford to stay there maybe its time to move? No one should be paying nearly 20 dollars for a Sand-which and Soup , then you charge nearly 10 dollars for a short sub with hardly any meat, you cut corners and overcharge, the only reason you get business is because of the convenience of being open at 6am, no one else around you charges as much as you guys, an its not about the money fr, its just breakfast food , and your charging the same prices for a dinner plate.
