Bidrage med feedbackDoves Nest figured out how to use high tea as their cash cow to milk customers by offering very little for a high price.
Overrated and overpriced. Not a good afternoon tea experience at all.__Bow Valley Ranche is way better in every aspect except tea variety.
This is the quintessential tea place where you catch up with your girlfriends over dainty tea sandwiches, lemon tarts, cakes, scones buttered with cream and
The food here is decent, the atmosphere is quaint, and the service was good. Large selection of teas. It was my first visit, and despite the good it will likely be my last. One in our party of 3 asked that her tuna sandwich be toasted with tomato and cheese added. At the end of our meal we found that we were charged extra for the tomato and cheese... but more surprisingly we were also charged extra for toasting the bread. Huge scones are good, but only came with jam or whipped cream (not clotted cream) & were served with little packaged butter. Corn chowder seemed to be made with creamed corn. Salad was a basic salad and generally good. Not worth the price imho though. There are better places.
They have a large variety of teas and you can choose a china tea cup from a selection to drink from. The staff were poorly trained and the overall experience did not emulate the upper end tea house experience that their menu and neighborhood portrayed. The floors were worn and dilapidated looking which surprised us. We had to request cream for tea and arrived 15 minutes after our pot of tea. We also never received the accompaniments for our scones. They were not overly busy....the staff seemed untrained and lacking customer service skills.
