Earl's - Calgary

The truffle chicken Parmesan was very impressive (5 stars and the Chicken Hunan Kung Pao was good (3.5 stars but the sweet potato fries weren 't noteworthy. I feel like the description of classy version of Denny 's is pretty apt. Last time I was here I got a stir fry with lots of veggies (and maybe noodles? for lunch which I 'd say was 3.5 stars about as good as Panda Express. The ambiance is very nice and many customers dress up (a few people wore jeans but no one was in sweatpants , and the food is presented nicely but I think you 're paying for the experience more so than the food with the possible exception of the chicken Parmesan which was really really good!

$7 off steaks on Wednesday so why not! The wings were also $5 off on Wednesday from 3PM to close! The restaurant is located near the airport so we chose to come here for dinner before our flight! The service was nice. The host and servers were all so kind and attentive. The wings were decent. They were covered in buffalo sauce. They were not dry and easy to eat. The blackened sirloin steak was good. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection. They steal was so tender and not dry. The asparagus that came with it was seasoned perfectly and went well with the steak. I was happy that they allowed me to change my sides for the steak.

The food was okay. Had the lettuce wraps spinach dip which was certainly not the best. It came with a lot of bread though. Patio was pretty packed too. Service was great!

I almost died on Feb. 8, 2023 after eating at the Earl's on 16th Ave. N.W. in Calgary, AB. I have life threatening allergies, and despite explaining the extremely serious nature of my allergies to nuts/peanuts/seafood, the food I was served contained one of those allergens. Virtually NO follow up was offered from the Earls management team aside was a very short, cursory and dismissive email response. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS IF YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS/RESTRICTIONS OR LIFE THREATENING ALLERGIES.

Crab cakes were awesome! I wish I had the recipe! Service was ok. Location on 16th street was super walkable.
