Bobby's Place, Olde World Tavern - Calgary

Turned down the TV’s for the weekly trivia during the 3rd period of game 7 involving the only Canadian team left in the playoffs!!! Didn’t have the the sense waiting until after the game. Owners need to rethink their business plan. Don’t bother if you’re looking to watch sports, drink a cold beer and enjoy some food.

I went to Bobby's today for a take-out lunch and was impressed by the prompt and friendly service. I ordered a Bobby's Burger and a classic with mushroom and Swiss cheese, both of which were cooked to perfection.

I went to this restaurant with a group of friends for dinner and we all had tasty meals. The service was excellent and the prices were very affordable. I have been there multiple times and have enjoyed each visit. It is a lovely pub.

We went for a beer and bite to eat. The food was amazingly great, best seafood chowder ever!! The service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive. So happy to have this pub in our neighbourhood, looking forward to trying the all day breakfast!!

A group of eight of us celebrated a birthday here on a Friday night. The place was steady and with a Flames game on the tv's, there was a lot going on. The inside decor was very much a Scottish pub, lots of wood, flags and a good row of beers on tap to choose from. All very good signs.We arrived in time for happy hour beers and ordered a round and because of our group, it took awhile before we ordered (our fault, not the waitress). The fare is very much pub fare with most of us going for the fish and chips, although there was a beef burger, chicken burger, calamari, mushroom caps and even a salad. Now it did take awhile for all the food to arrive but I am sure they were doing their best in the kitchen. Our waitress was also very good handling all our requests smoothly.Now the big surprise. The dishes were very large. I ordered the fish and chips and an extra piece of fish for my wife so we could share. She ordered the large mushroom caps which came in a very large basket. The fish pieces were massive. We shared the caps twice with our friends and ended up with take out (the fish too). All the food, from our friend's comments and ours, was it was very good but almost too much. However if you have a hearty appetite, this place won't disappoint.The owner came out and asked us how were things? We liked this nice touch and seeing as we just ate, nothing to complain about. We wish them well and as far as we were concerned, this pub is a welcome addition to the neighbourhood. Good stuff!
