Bidrage med feedbackFamilies and friends gathered for a early morning Dim Sum at BobbyChao’s on a rainy day .Servers were friendly and greetings with a WoW welcome .. Food was tasty and hot ...
If you're ever in the NW definitely try out Bobby Chao's. We came here for dim sum and was impressed by the variety of items they had to offer. We ordered the 1) Bobby Chao Peanut Dumplings (generous filling of meat and peanuts). With the peanut dumplings you can really taste the essence of the peanuts. 2) Seafood dumplings (unique wrapping presentation with a good balance of scallops and shrimp). The seafood dumplings were saucy with lots of scallop. 3)The deep fried shrimp wontons (heavy filling of shrimp and the wontons had a golden look). These golden wontons had a nice crunch biting into it and flavor was good. 4) The beef tripe (good mix of scallions, tripe and ginger). The beef tripe was probably my least favorite as it didn't taste as fresh. 5) The bbq crepe (thicker crepe but chunks of bbq pork meat). They have a separate kitchen where they marinate the bbq pork asian style so you know it's fresh. The dishes here are around $6 to $8 per dish but the quality and taste is worth the price paid. Now after being this full I'll probably pass out.
Went to Bobby Chaos for dim sum on a Friday afternoon. It's been so long since we've been here and was pleasantly surprised that it has been renovated. The restaurant is bright, modern and clean inside. We were greeted immediately by a waitress who pointed to a table and arrived shortly to wipe it while apologizing that it wasn't clean (which was understandable as the restaurant was full). She asked us for our tea order and made small chat about being off for work during the holidays. <br/ <br/ Within a minute, another waitress showed up to ask for our tea order as she set the table. This same waitress could be overhead awhile later asking the kitchen why no dishes had come out for our table. It might not seem like a big hing, but this service at a Chinese restaurant doesn't always happen and should he acknowledged. <br/ <br/ Rice pot w preserved meats $7.99<br/ includes two kinds of Chinese sausage, duck, pork belly and vegetables. You receive a side of soy sauce which you drizzle over. While the rice wasn't cooked in the pot (I miss the crusty pieces of rice against a clay pot), the rice still had subtle flavors of meat and it was also a good portion.<br/ <br/ Steamed beef balls $5.75<br/ soft and moist<br/ 3 beef balls <br/ <br/ Steamed spareribs in black bean sauce $5.25<br/ <br/ Seafood dumplings w XO Sauce $5.99<br/ 3 large dumplings with big pieces of shrimp inside <br/ no XO taste though
Great peaking and very good vermicelli. Vietnamese soups not so good. Order from here at least 2 times a month. Best Chinese food in crowfoot/nosehill/symonds valley area.
First time trying out this place and the food is good. We sat at one of the private rooms that they have (very convenient for family dinners) and the service is awesome. Everything was well seasoned, nothing was over cooked, presentation was good. The thing I love the most was the chasiu pork, IT WAS SO GOOD, perfectly seasoned, perfectly fried, the crunchiness of the skin and the tenderness of the meat OMG, you must try it if you have the opportunity to go there! Another thing that I liked was the deep fried doughnut with sweet sauce, perfect appetizer or dessert. I definitely recommend this place!
