The Smith Restaurant & Bar - Calgary

The forge has closed. more open table should know better if a restaurant is no longer in business. the open table should not have available a restaurant to be booked.

I was disappointed that some of the items I wanted to try from the online menu were not available. The paper menus were a bit sticky and seemed cheap. The food was good, but the overall experience was lacking, especially for a birthday dinner.

The service was great, but the short nativity was not very good.. many dimples and bones and not much meat. I will probably try the restaurant again as other foods saw delicious!

We decided to go to the smith for Mother's Day brunch because we lived close and the menu promised that any brunch article could be made gluten-free. we went into a beautiful environment in the main floor, but we were up to high tops with a bar look (and last night bargeruch.) we had children with us, so high tables are not desirable. the brunch menu was naked and also yesterday the speck, under sausages, dry stir and hash brown. the only delightful product was a unique falafel eier benny. we asked the server where the washroom was. she informed us that there was not one in the upper floor, so we had to take our young children down the stairs to the main floor. After I raised the young ones back up the stairs, I see that there is a lady washroom up there in the did! How did the server not know? we paid our bill $80 for a family of 4. a bit over price for a mere brunch without taste. as we go down, we noticed that the main floor had a lot of fresh fruits as well as crumbs. again, seriously, why was the menu different below? it was the same cost! I like to support the locals, but the smith has lost my business.

We have eaten at The Smith a couple of times before our last visit and enjoyed the experience. Our latest visit (Mother's Day) was disappointing. Our first waitress was not welcoming and appeared annoyed when we asked for menus. We were not interested in having the buffet. The lunch was good but am not sure why meals arrived at different times, even identical meals. Some of the party were almost finished when other meals arrived. Not returning to The Smith.
