Red Onion - Calera

The most delicious steak quesadilla I've ever had! The empanadas were also delicious, and I stole some of my sister's fries. We were passing through and thought we'd give something new a try. Was not disappointed!

This place is nasty! I’ve tried giving the benefit of the doubt, but their food taste like they take a water hose that’s been sitting out in the middle of July to cook with…?

A good place to get food and/or coffee when traveling through Calera.

I 'm here in Madison cleaning up after hurricane Idalia and there isn 't much to choose from when it comes to food so I chose Red Onion to eat.The food was fair, most the time it was over cooked but I can 't and didn 't complain about it and ate my food, I was hungry. I 'd spend 4 nights a week there eating and I witnessed a lot of stuff. The cooks (a cook) was always occupied with the waitresses thinking he 's god gift to women. He would corner them in places,like where they keep the salad bar plates and by the coke machine. It wasn 't any of my business so I didn 't say anything about it. I thought if they didn 't want it they would 've said something to someone about it.Tonight I went in there hungry after working 12 hours and ordered a half chicken to go and a salad. I ate my salad while my chicken was cooking and that guy was in there tonight. My dinner sat sat on a plate in the window under the heat lamps for 10 min. My waitress was expecting my dinner to go so she didn 't think it was mine. She told that cook it needed to go, asked him to make it to go, so now my food has set for 20 min....He walked away and didn 't touch my food he then came back to the window and pushed my food almost off the edge of the window and said whose food is this? I spike up and said it 's mine!! He then got this look on his face and said,, huh? I said that 's mine and I needed that to go can you please make it to go so I can be on my way. He looked at me and said are you talking to me I said yes he replied back saying you don 't talk to me like that ! I said sorry I 'm just hungry and want my food to go it 's been in the window for 30 min now . He then looked at me almost coming through the window saying you 're not going to talk to me like that you cracker . I stood up and left. I 'm going to contact an attorney over this but I just want to get that off my chest and for anyone wanting to try this place all I can say is buyers beware enter at your own risk.

Food was way too expensive I ordered catfish rice and gravy and mash potatoes and gravy gravy tasted like it was instant gravy mash potatoes definitely were out the box not home made server was quick and rude and only one sized drink even when I requested a large I get charged for a large but get the same cup everybody else gets I do not recommend and I will not be returning for just looked bland with no flavor
