Bidrage med feedbackA major reason for coming to Cadiz is to sample the full flavour of Gaditano life. In most Cadiz restaurants, although there are many excellent places to eat, that flavour can be hard to find, but this little taberna has it in spades. Outwardly it's just a bar on a corner really, nothing to look at with only two or three small tables inside, but they have tables in the square to sit and eat. There's no through traffic of cars so it's quiet and pleasant. The first and most important thing of course is the cooking and the food here will stand comparison with far swankier places. Fresh vegetables and herbs for the sauces, the freshest of fish and meats, carefully put together for each individual customer, all the dishes I have tried here have been a treat for the taste buds and the prices won't break the bank either. Cold beers or a good glass of wine and fast and friendly service from the proprietor (his wife is the cook) round off a great lunch and expect to pay between 20 and 30 euros for two including drinks. However, it's not all about what you eat, but who you eat with and here it's local people at the tables, exchanging banter with their neighbours as they pass, telling jokes, even dancing an impromptu sevillana and breaking into song if the mood takes them. This will include you, so be prepared! You'll have to look for this one on the map, because this is not a tourist square, but make the effort. It's one you'll remember when you leave.
Authentic wonderful local food low cost prices. old school service. you won't find anything similar. if you are in Cádiz a place that you can't miss. You will not find anything similar in Cádiz. it is not a touristic spot but you will be overwhelmed by the people, the spontaneous singing, .... Cádiz at it's most.
