Chick'nCone is a super unique style of food to North County San Diego. The restaurant is in a food court type of building with a few other restaurants nearby making it a great one stop place to go with friends. The chicken was warm and crunchy and came with a variety of sauces from as mild as maple syrup up to the spicy peri peri pepper sauce. The cone itself was a cute pink color and tasted so good dipped in the maple syrup. The fries were seasoned with a Cajun seasoning and both crispy on the outside yet warm and soft inside. The corn was crunchy but could have used a bit more seasoning. The Mac and cheese was ooey gooey, warm and topped with a Cajun seasoning that added a nice spice to the flavor. Vishal was so attentive to us throughout the meal making sure everything was up to our quality. Great place for a bite to eat and to support an up and coming business in our community.
My wife and I have been here a couple of times before and they are always good. The added a new sauce (Honey Fire) and also a mint chocolate milk shake. Everything was pretty on point and we will be back!
ABSOLUTELY SO CLUCKING GOOD IS RIGHT! First off, to get it out of the way, this is located in a mini food court. While the food court reminded me of how dirty, sticky, nasty 90s food courts in malls used to be, this review is solely for Chik'nCone. The food court itself is kept so dirty and seriously deserves 0 stars. Anywho... back to the deliciousness that is Chik'nCone! At first I was skeptical because my first impression was that their main offering was just throwing chicken nuggets into a waffle cone. It's WAY WAY better than that. They give you the option to get those nuggets tossed in sauce or just have the sauce on the side to dip. They have an excellent selection of sauces, I tried the cinna maple and the kickin ranch. The cinna maple was incredible and the pairing made for a fresh juicy chicken and waffle flavor. The kickin ranch was the perfect amount of spicy to get my tongue burning without breaking a sweat. It took about 10 minutes to receive the order, but the wait was oh so worth it as the chicken was perfectly fresh. If you plan getting the chicken tossed in sauce, I recommend eating it there right away as I'm sure the chicken may get soggy the longer it's soaking in the sauce. The waffle cone also had that fresh crunch to it and it's thick enough that it won't crumble as soon as you take a bite. I will for sure be coming back to try the other sauces, chicken sandwich and definitely a shake. They have a great daily specials Mon Thurs!
