L' Ostaria - BUSSOLENGO

Bussolengo is a lovely, quiet town-the real Italy-just a short bus ride from Verona and well worth the trip. This is a stylish but excellent value restaurant. We enjoyed a superb lunch sitting outside in the sun, prawns of the most excellent quality and tomato pasta. Service was friendly and attentive. Value for money for food of this quality was very good indeed.

Looking for a restaurant just as they were closing after lunch, we decided to experience L'Ostaria. Welcomed by the owner of this eccentric restaurant, we experienced the regional cuisine. The food was fresh and tasty. They accommodated our children and proposed the best wine we tasted in northern Italy. In sum, it was a delightful experience and would recommended to any traveler that journey in that area.

Excellently prepared fish (octopus, seabream) combined with a good wine. Count about 40€ pp for a primo, secondo and a desert with a nice Soave and a bottle of gazzata. Those with a keen eye will certainly remember the decoration: medieval paintings, many mirrors against the wall and the ceiling, some rather erotic sculptures. The toilet left an impression on my son, as well as my wife (Remember ‘The Shining’ and REDRUM). Note that this Osteria is open on saturday noon time. The wifi is strong. The service efficient, maybe a bit chilly. We need to go back to form a better opinion. Again, not an issue since the food is worth it!

We happened in this restaurant. a random reservation on the highway. we were greeted in friendship, as regular customers. from a small kitchen, fantastic fish delicacies emerged. raw sea, oysters, octopus with mashed potatoes, scallops and curls with smoked sword. All excellent. very kind owner, efficient waiter and cook very capable. exquisite wine and original environment. Too good!
