Bidrage med feedbackAte here with friends and enjoyed a gorgeous Sunday lunch. I'm always worried about eating out on a Sunday as I think we can make better at home. But the red lion did not disappoint! I had roast turkey and the meat was such good quality and I was served 3 slices!! The veg was of good quality too. My husband ate roast beef and he also really enjoyed it. I don't normally have dessert but they offered a coffee and small dessert so I chose the syrup sponge.. It was amazing, gutted I didn't order a full sized portion! All in all it was a Fab catch up with friends over a great meal! Thanks
Disappointingly, we had to cut our stay short due to unforeseen circumstances. Beautiful room, with everything you need to make your stay a home from home experience. It’s in a lovely quiet area, very cosy and welcoming and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We will definitely be rebooking for our next visit North. We highly recommend this place.
What a lovely place! It oozes kerb side appeal, and has plenty of parking too. The pub itself was really well decorated and had such a friendly atmosphere, and we received a really warm welcome. We stayed in room 4 which was such a lovely room. It was so clean, spacious and well equipped and we just LOVED the bay window so pretty. It was really tastefully decorated and the bed was super comfy too. The food was delicious definitely worth visiting for. The duck spring rolls as a starter were full of meat and the Manchester Tart was just delicious. I'd definitely like to return to sample some of the other dishes available. Breakfast was well cooked and really tasty a really good portion size too. And as for the staff they were all so friendly and welcoming and really added to the character of the place. They definitely made our stay very welcoming. Thank you so much for our stay we've already spread the word and will definitely be revisiting for another stay in the future.
A perfect Afternoon Tea. Generous filled sandwiches, prawn mayo, cheese chutney, beef horseradish and ham mustard (definitely no wafer thin ham here! . An assortment of sweet treats, the brownie was rich decadent and the mini Eton mess just lovely. A slice of Manchester tart was a lovely suprise. Fresh fruit scones with mini jars of jam plenty of clotted cream. Overall filling and delicious. Every item was fresh and beautifully presented. Extremely good value for money. Topped of by pleasant attentive service.
One of the most friendly and attentive small hotels I’ve stayed in. The rooms are clean, lovely and well equipped. The restaurant and bar feel very welcoming and all the staff have an energy and enthusiasm which can’t help but make you smile. I was there on Tuesday (pie night) home made plate meat pie with chips and peas. You also get a pint of JW Lees best bitter for £14.95. Exceptional quality and delicious. Special mention to David on the bar . I will definitely book again when I’m in the region.
