Mungo Lodge - BURONGA

We booked accommodation and they played on the fact that they are so remote food had to be ordered specially so were tricked into pre-ordering from a set menu and found if we had ordered a la carte it would have been cheaper with more options. But almost everyone in our group was disappointed with the food. The Vegetarian Curry was more like a Mulligatawny Soup, the Date Pudding was like a microwaved Sara Lee. It is in a remote landscape, but only 100km or so to Mildura, so they could do much better.

The meal we had at the lodge that was included in our organised tour, was fresh, tasty and presented so beautifully! Staff were so friendly and helpful. We couldn’t believe that there was so much choice on the menu!

Despite being located 100 kilometers off the main road and down a 70-kilometer dirt road, the coffee and scones greeted us upon arrival and the lunch following our National Park tour were exceptional. Kudos to the staff at Mungo Lodge!

After camping in the National Park, we stopped for coffee on the way out, but were very disappointed. My almond milk coffee lacked any coffee flavor, and my husband's was bitter and gritty. We were willing to pay a higher price because of the location, but it was very disappointing to receive a poor quality drink.
