Bidrage med feedbackSooda Korean BBQ in Burnaby. The food served here is kind of like the new type of Korean food served at Tabom Korean BBQ. One of the main differences between this type of Korean food from its traditional counterpart is the use of cheese and corn on the BBQ plate. Sooda Korean BBQ is located on Lougheed Highway near Willingdon Avenue in Burnaby.
Sooda has been on my to try list for quite a while now. Of course, like everyone else, I 've been eying their 46 cm sushi creation the Sooda Box. The Sooda Box, as the name suggests, is Sooda 's specialty dish. It has a similar concept of Vancouver 's renowned aburi battera sushi, but with a Korean twist. <br/ <br/ Instead of the usual salmon, shrimp, and saba, Sooda 's rendition of this dish is created with premium Korean AAA eye round steak tartar slightly torched and charred on top of rice. The Sooda Box creation comes in four different options: Original, Cheese, Honey Garlic, and Butter Mayo. You can get full orders ranging from $24.95 $27.95 or half orders from $13.95 16.95. You can also mix and match different flavours to create a full 46cm sushi board!<br/ <br/ I 'm absolutely blown away at this fusion twist of the dish. It 's not your conventional Korean food. Even looking at battera aburis; they are already unconventional and unique in its own way in the sense that I 'd classify it as a 'West Coast ' style dish. Sooda takes the innovative dish to another level in such an inventive way. <br/ <br/ The beef tartar is delicious. The taste of the tartar is similar to Yukhoe, a korean beef sashimi salad dish. I believe they use a similar method/cut of beef sashimi. We got an half order of honey garlic and original. The Honey Garlic one is served with garlic chips on top while the Original is served with cheese, mayo, and jalepeno. Both of them tasted phenomenal and I can 't wait to be back to try the other flavour offerings.
Hello! Sooda is a Korean BBQ restaurant that has taken the place of Firepots. Sooda Korean BBQ is located along Lougheed Highway right across from Whole Foods. It’s been open for a while but I’ve yet to try it until now. Even though I knew that Sooda was the only Korean restaurant in the the Brentwood/Willingdon Heights area, I was surprised as to how many people were waiting at the door when we got there. We had to wait a good 20 minutes for our table but we had to sit at a smaller table and squish together. Everyone after us in the line had to wait at least 30-40 minutes because the restaurant didn’t have a lot of seating and most people had larger parties and stayed for at least an hour.
Third time here and this time our server was a younger Asian guy with permed hair, he was terrific and made the experience so enjoyable!
Unique Menu Items and Good Lunch Specials! It's a nice addition to North Burnaby neighborhood. Good for groups as the menu specializes in large portions. Will go back to try other foods in the future.
