Bidrage med feedbackI like the ambience of this place. It reminds you of the cafes in LA, spacious with high ceiling, plants that brighten up your day. It’s a great hangout area for friends and family. I wish they have something like this in Vancouver area. Their combination of Korean savoury menus went well with the French pastries. I loved their spicy bulgogi in squid ink bread sandwich.
Cute and Instagram-worthy cafe that used to be a garage. The interior is very pretty and modern. <br/ <br/ I like to come for brunch because of their breakfast platters. These are good to share between 2 people. Usually comes with a salad, potatoes, toast, 2 eggs cooked your way a main (you choose). These platters are roughly $13-18. Tried their pear sandwich but it's not as good as Finch's.<br/ <br/ I recommend having coffee meet-ups, brunch with your girlfriends or maybe a casual study meeting (where you don't need quiet to study) at La Foret. <br/ <br/ More pics and full review on the blog:
La Foret is one of those places where I seem to be the last person on earth (or at least in my network) to try. I’ve heard great things about La Foret and while looking for a new place to try, the fiance and I finally came here. La Foret is located close to Metrotown, inconspicuously disguised as a garage. You wouldn’t expect it to be a popular, bustling cafe with Korean influences from the outside.
It’s always been on my list to try La Foret but for whatever reason I never did. When I took Mama Lam out shopping at Metrotown one weekend, I decided to take her there first. Even though La Foret’s menu isn’t all that original but they do introduce their own take on it (e.g. squid ink waffle). Overall I quite enjoyed the food and I thought it’s a nice spot for brunch.
After the quick shopping at Metrotown on Saturday morning, my friend took me to LA Foret to have some snacks. It was my first time at this place. We had such a great time there.<br/ <br/ Location: LA Foret is located between Royal Oak and Metrotown Skytrain stations. Because of the location, it was always very busy and difficult to park the car. There is only a few spots in the front and a couple at the back. Since we arrived early, we found a spot at the back. My friend told me that she had to park a few blocks away sometimes when she visited this place.<br/ <br/ La Foret is a restaurant, patisserie, and cafe. It has a huge space inside. About 84 seats inside the cafe. Since Foret means forest in French, it has used trees and plants surrounds the space. Walking inside the restaurant, you will have a totally different feeling.<br/ <br/ Since it’s still early, my friend and I only ordered one Green Tea Waffle and two small slides cakes to share. The Green Tea Waffle was made by fresh kiwi, strawberry, green tea ice cream, walnuts, green tea sauce and house-made whipped cream. The Waffle was freshly made. Large portion. The taste of the waffle was very delicious. Sweet Strawberry. Sour Kiwi and strong taste of the green tea flavor. Awesome choice. The price is a little bit expensive, which is around $14. The double chocolate cake is $7 per piece. The price is expensive. It has consisted of layers of chocolate cake sandwiching chocolate mousse and was covered in a layer of shiny chocolate frosting. The cake was very nice not too sweet. Love it. Earl Grey Mousse Cake $7.5 per piece. The price is more expensive than a double chocolate cake. The earl grey flavor is my favorite. Service: The servers at La Foret were nice and friendly. They were all knowledgeable about their products. If this is your first time, they will give you detail explanation about all their products.<br/ <br/ In summary, I found nice and comfortable to have food at La Foret and enjoy its eco-system environment. Highly Recommend people.
