Bidrage med feedbackA few months ago a new restaurant opened in the neighborhood of Edmonds in Burnaby. The restaurant itself is spacious and very clean, but it lacks ambience, although it could be better decorated very easy. This was our first visit, and we have very limited experience with Afghani food. I ordered the Teka Kababab, which is a lamb cabab, served with a salad and a large portion of Afghani rice with fried carrots and raisins. My spouse had the chicken slaughter. We shared an appetizer of veggie bolani (similar to Lamasbrot, but filled with vegetables and butter. On the side is an Afghan Chutney, which is excellent. No alcohol is served in the restaurant. We will definitely return. PS. For the owners. Afghanistan is a beautiful country, I think you should highlight the photos you have.
Very clean and quick service from the owner, on my date on a Friday night. The soup with chickpeas was excellent and a pleasant surprise. Portions are very large and generous rice was fresh and perfectly cooked. Loved my beef with salad and...rice. Will come back: parking next door
The restaurant has plenty of parking spaces and ample seating. The lamb kebab was well-seasoned and cooked perfectly, remaining juicy and not dry. The vegetables were fresh and beautifully presented. However, for $14, the portion size of meat and vegetables was not enough. This leaves me unsure about returning to try other items on the menu as there isn't enough incentive for me to come back.
We decided to try this restaurant by ordering take-out and were overall quite pleased. I had never tried Afghani food before, so it was a new experience. We ordered the Qabeli pallow and Shaami Kebab with bread, and the portions were generous. The Qabeli pallow was delicious, reminiscent of a dish we had tried in Central Asia, with tender and flavorful lamb. The only thing I would suggest improving is the salad, perhaps adding some dressing as it was just plain vegetables and greens.
To start positively, the server was friendly. The rest of the experience was poor to average. The meat was over cooked and dry, the interior decor was simple, and the prices were expensive for what was prepared.
