Kraeutermuehle Burg - Burg (Spreewald)

This is a beautiful local restaurant that originally seemed a bit overtourist (probably due to the accordion player, but just ended up fine. I think the music was sponsored by a lunch tour bus. No loud accordion music for dinner, thank you. I had Zander-Fishfilet, my father had trout in the law. My brother had a burger while all three ladies had potatoes with quark. We also had delicious Spreewald Pickles. Everyone was very happy with the food. The outdoor seats were a real pleasure in August. We had perfect weather and no bugs, except a bee or two. The service was well given how full the place was. For some reason, they only make two seats at 5:30 and 7:30. So the waiters are very busy, all at the same time. But like most things in Germany it worked well and nobody complained. For six people, the bill came by 130 €. Not bad. Cash and EC card only, of course (accept credit cards, please!

We ate here twice and the service and food were consistently good. On the first evening we were inside, which has a nice atmosphere and on the second day we sat in the beer garden for drinking in the late afternoon and ended at dinner in the beautiful outdoor area.

A place like this, I mean a restaurant in a windmill, could easily be considered as a tourist trap, but here this is certainly not the case. Very friendly staff, local dishes and some altered classic dishes from the region make this place a perfect place to dinner when you stay in castle.

Nice place (didn't look inside on this hot day) with a lot of seating outside. Attentive and friendly staff, quiet a variety of food. Food was very nice but beware...it's plenty. Great beer.

We stayed at the Kräutermühle over the weekend and it was a great time. The room was perfect for us and our little ones, very clean and nicely set up. The playground right next to the hotel was just perfect. The kids were also entertained by the water fountain right at the hotel entrance. The Kräutermühle is very centrally located in Burg, providing access to several other restaurants and cafes. The hotel restaurant also has a very good and tasty local offering. In addition to the hotel, the area offers great nature, pony riding, boat tours, etc. We loved our Spreewald visit!
