Bidrage med feedbackAbsolutely incredible service and food. The whole restaurant was full of excitement and really had an amazing atmosphere. The food and wine was also spectacular. If you are looking for something else in Buenos Aires, this is a 10/10 recommendation from me. They also had many gluten-free options for my wife, which is extremely important.
Great food, is the third time that we have gone and it has always been a good experience, but the last time they were understaffed so that level of service was not as it was used. I realized that at least one or two bartenders were missing and probably a few waiters, but it should be pointed out that they are trying to do their best.
We were intrigued by this place since it was written in the New York Times years ago. On this trip to Buenos Aires we decided to splash and try it for dinner. It was best ANDERWHELMING. Careful, overpriced, overrated. That said it is a beautiful room and some of the dishes especially a deconstructed baba ganush were excellent. The mix of Sephardic inspired and Ashkenazi inspired menu selection simply does not work. The signature Pastron with Latkes was a terrible disappointment. Tthe Pastron was covered with a sweet Gooey sauce, which is more to Texas BBQ than anything you would find in Jewish cuisine. The "Latke was a huge brick of rice potatoes, more like a ball, but it lacked a recognizable taste. (a brick of MUSH, actually). The prices for this joint are for people who have dollars or euros. This was the most expensive dinner we ever had in Buenos Aires, and NOT WORTH the cost. My advice: Skip this place and have Jewish food in New York, LA or Miami. If in Buenos Aires, eat Argentine food. It is from this world and amazingly affordable. One last comment: I was insulted when the waiter reminded us that the bill did not contain the tip. We will not return to this place. Always.
Excellent dishes, great service: the Barman was very professional, talented and entertaining. Definitely a must experience!
We saw this restaurant in the Latam top 50 for 2022 where it talked about the Friday night Shabbat experience. W had our concierge book a Friday night when the “experience” was to take place. We don’t like to eat at 10:30 but that is what the restaurant suggested so we decided to go “local”. There is no special Friday night celebration. Would not even know that there was any Jewish influence. (We explained the significance of the menu to the staff of some, of the dishes). Unfortunately one of the musicians never showed so there was not even any music. This was unexpected and the other musician seriously worried as could not contact him. This was not the restaurants fault but still. Now to the food which is “Mishiguene”. The combos are strange, but interesting. The babaganousch was tasty if small. The pastrami over the brick was huge. So much meat; the brick or potato kugle was tasteless. Our expectations for this restaurant were high and it was disappointing. Better to eat elsewhere.
