Bidrage med feedbackThis Cafe used to have a welcoming atmosphere and great customer service, but it seems there are new owners now. Unfortunately, the service was lacking on my recent visit. The staff seemed disinterested and did not provide a friendly greeting. The food, including the corn fritter and vegetable slice, was only average in quality. Additionally, being charged an extra $3 for a small portion of salad was not worth it. Considering the competition in the area, good customer service is just as important as good food and value.
"We had a vegetarian breakfast on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it. The meal was simple yet delicious, and we finished every bite. The homemade cheese scones we took home were exceptional. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere felt like a charming country café. We will definitely be returning."
I am giving 5 stars because of a few things , The lasagna I had and the soup my friend had yesterday tasted delicious . The lasagna tasted really great , one of the best lasagna's I have ever eaten outside of Italy , BUT it was stone cold in the middle and barely warm on the outside . I just ate it without mentioning it because I was short of time , we had already waited long enough but not too long and had no further time to wait if it were to be reheated. The salad was also really nice because of the salad dressing , which was obviously home made , I would have loved a lot more salad on my plate for my extra $3 because the little salad I had was so good. The staff were friendly , the atmosphere pleasant . Handy tip to the cook ...How to test if lasagna is hot enough on the inside,..... When you think it is done , take a knife and plunge it into the middle of the lasagna count to five , take the knife out and place the blade on your bottom lip , if the knife is hot it is ready , if it is not , stick it back in the microwave for a few minutes longer . This is how I feel about it , , what is the point of making a great tasting lasagna , only to serve it to the customer cold ? You need to follow through and make sure it is enjoyed as it should be . It is not up to the customer to send it back to be reheated if it is not hot enough , the cook needs to take responsibility to ensure it is enjoyed properly by serving it at the right temperature for consumption. I do hope next time I come my lasagna will be served piping hot , because I would return to this cafe .
Lovely mix of both savoury and sweet with the variety enough to keep you interested. Flavourful teas to try or coffee if not a tea drinker. All in all a wonderful experience with the most friendly, helpful and accommodating hosts in Janelle and Darrel. Will keep coming back and also to try the normal menu. Looks yummy.
I often walk to this favourite spot and have breakfast, read the papered and wander home. The coffee and eggs on toast are ALWAYS perfect. This combined with an early morning welcome and smile is a great way to start the day. From time to time I purchase the corn fritters for an easy evening meal. You can eat them there however I prefer to pretend I made them for the family. They are light, moist and tasty. All is all I can't recommend this spot highly enough.
