We had a wonderful dinner on Thursday of last week, it was my brother's birthday and he had never been to The Trout before, he hates night driving but absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere. We were absolutely stuffed so couldn't fit in pudding, in fact the portion for my starter was so generous I brought the remains home for my lunch. Well done. Service: 5 Location: 5

The Trout at Tadpole Bridge is a beautiful, well presented pub in the very picturesque location by the river Thames. The garden is utterly stunning with views over river and a stone bridge. The food was delicious, the menu was diverse and I really appreciated that there was a children’s menu. The tables were well spread out throughout the pub, with various seating levels, from cosy bar side tables to a more sophisticated sit down dinning area. Service was generally very good, my only criticism is that I had to ask for the sides for our dinners to come out as they had been forgotten. That said, our party had a wonderful trip and I can’t wait to return. I feel like we’ve found a real local treasure which I’ll be recommending to everyone. Food drinks: A wide selection of food on the menu. We went for Sunday roast and I feel a good selection was given. A children’s menu was available and this came on a colouring in sheet with crayons to keep the children entertained. Great touch!

The rich gravy added an extra layer of deliciousness to the already flavoursome dish. The portion size was generous, leaving us feeling fully satisfied. The pub's charm and friendly service made for a truly memorable birthday experience. A must-visit for anyone craving a hearty Sunday roast in a stunningly picturesque setting.
