Taste Of China - Broxbourne

After being disappointed by our local Chinese restaurant two times in a row, we decided to try a new place. Our friends suggested Taste of China so we tried the Gourmet Set Dinner for the first time. The staff happily accommodated our preference for chicken instead of lamb, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We would have given it 5 stars if not for the outdated decor that needs updating.

After reading the reviews, I was surprised by the comments as we just had a fantastic meal at this restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the place was impeccably clean. The food was fresh and delicious, we couldn't find a single fault. We will certainly be returning.

Food was amazing but the service by Johnny made our night what a beautiful young man thank you so much he was so helpful and friendly and he was the highlight of our night

Ordered from this restaurant this evening bit into a mouthful of what I thought was my VEGETARIAN Aubergine dish it turned out to be a RANCID piece of MEAT!I called them was at 1st accused of lying,then demanded to drive the food back there to “prove it.” Eventually the delivery driver came to collect the regurgitated piece of meat returned it to the restaurant. Instead of being called by them as promised, I had to follow it up. The same man that called me a liar then went on to raise his voice shout down the phone at me (he confirmed that it was a piece of chicken) but was only willing to refund for the aubergine dish. I have never been spoken to so rudely in all my life. Thoroughly disappointed and will be reporting them! An apology refund would have been acceptable. Outrageous!!!

Visited this restaurant recently for a meal with friends. First we ordered drinks and as none of us drink we ordered 2 diet cokes and 1 ordinary coke. The waitress seemed to not know what we meant by a full fat coke /ordinary coke but returned with 2 diet cokes in large glasses and what we thought was a ordinary coke in a smaller glass. My friend was a bit confused by this and asked for more coke to be added. Food was OK but not amazing, staff very off and grumpy. When the bill came service charge was almost £10 and a vodka was on the bill. The waitress said we ordered a vodka which we certainly did not as my friend never drinks. She stood in front of us and denied serving us which was a bare faced lie. Then two of the staff stood in front of our table talking in chinese about us. RUDE. eventually they removed the vodka from the bill. My friend was upset to think her drink had vodka in it and also it could have been dangerous had she been on medication. NEVER AGAIN
