While in Kathmandu has opened my eyes to the glories of Nepalese cuisine. I do not understand why Nepalese food isn’t more popular in the states. This stuff is DELICIOUS! I’ve been here twice now. Have tried the garlic naan, pork momos, shrimp momos, goat dinner platter and chicken dinner platter. I fell in love with everything I’ve eaten. If you come here you MUST get at least one of the momos. I also recommend trying their homemade hot sauce. I love how the platters come with a bunch of different sides. It’s so fun trying all the unique flavors. I typically come here with my Pakistani friend. He’s actually been to this place more times than me. He’s never actually admitted this to me but I believe he enjoys Nepalese food over Pakistani food. His family back in Pakistan would be disappointed to find out. What isn’t disappointed is his stomach after he eats at While in Kathmandu.

While in Kathmandu has really improved over the years. I had some reservations after my first visits back when they had just opened years ago—but I so enjoyed my recent dinner there. They've definitely hit their stride! Lots of menu options make it easy for anyone to find something they like—or to try something new. It also feels like a very dynamic, community-oriented place. I look forward to trying the back garden in the summer.
