3.5/5 This place has been popularized online so, I really wanted to try it. We waited in line for 30 minutes at 2:30PM. We got the large BBQ pork and roasted duck for $8 and it was more than enough for 2 people. The meats were flavourful and soft but, if you have had these Chinese foods before this won’t be ground breaking.. If the line is short and you’re looking for a quick CHEAP bite, I highly recommend. But, don’t make it a MUST visit if you’re visiting NYC.
Waited 35 mins in line for a hefty serving of Peking Duck/BBQ Pork for $8.50. The BBQ pork was the star of the show. Quality and quantity of food was worth the 35mins wait, anything longer would be debatable.
If you're familiar with Chinese food, this will taste very unsatisfying and disappointing. But if you're a non-chinese wanting to try cheap roasted meat it'll work! This shop is open for foreigners to eat. If you know Chinese food don’t come here
The only reason this place has a line that stretches down the block is that you can get food for cheap, but at the same time you get what you pay for. I tried both the chicken over rice and the roast pork over rice, and the roast pork is rather fatty, the chicken simply has a lot of skin on it. Sure you can have a simple meal for $5.50, but I truly don’t believe it’s worth waiting in line 20 minutes for.
