Sofia's Taqueria (amboy Rd)

This place is 'the go to ' for Great Mexican food!!. I moved to NYC from Los Angeles in 2007. Took me 15 years trying Mexican food all over NYC. I am 'in my Mexican Kitchen ' at Sofia 's. Love this place!!

Today was my first time visiting this establishment. From the moment we walked in we were greeted warmly and seated right away. Our server approached us immediately and was very polite and friendly. We were given chips and salsa that were so fresh and tasty. We ordered our appetizers and drinks and our meals. Everything came out staggered and in a timely fashion. The tortilla soup was to die for. The chicken wings with the dry rub were the best wings I have ever eaten. I ordered the shrimp quesadilla and the rice and beans side dish. The food was so fresh and tasty. The staff were all so polite and attentive. The prices are fantastic. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again and again. Thanks for the amazing experience.

AMAZING. Most places doesn't deserve 5 stars flat but Sophia's? On Amboy? They do! All the wait staff are amazing and patient. They keep up with your orders and demands and did I say they're patient? We spent over 2 hours sipping on our Wepa Wednesday pitchers and they just smiled and let us enjoy ourselves. I appreciate this place and what they offer. 10/10 recommend Also let's not get started on the amazing food. I've had almost everything on their menu. Also 10/10. I. Would recommend this place, food and establish was really good. The only thing is our waitress messed up our drink orders, and I'm not sure if it was the manager who came over to us to ask if we wanted another round of drinks. We told him what happened he didn't even apologize or try to make it right. We ordered esspresso martinis and asked do you guys have baileys to put in. Esspresso martinis is on the menu. And they had bailyes. We later found out the waitress told the bartender we wanted esspresso in a martini glass with just baileys and that's what we got. But made us pay the esspresso Martini price... I thought that was bad customer service and should've compensated or at least apologized.

First time here and i have to say from food to service was great my waiter chris v he was awesome so personalable everything he said to get he was on point from the drinks to the entree seriously best waiter! Cant wait to come back!
