Bidrage med feedbackWe went to this place because Toto ramen was closed…saw the high rating so decided to give it a try. The seafood pancake was purely over cooked (black) dough with no seafood. Grilled squid is in fact microwaved squid. We ordered two ramens-the classic lucky cat ramen, which had a weird flavor…won’t ever go back again.
This was the perfect place to go on a rainy evening. No wait, authentic ramen, and friendly staff. Also very cheap compared to the more touristy places in NYC. I’d definitely go back.
Food and drinks in a relaxed Japanese bar restaurant with wall-to-wall Japanese pop and cultural references serving food and drinks. The dining area isn't huge so be ready to get familiar with other hungry/thirsty customers. We only went for a light tipple but what we sampled was hit and miss. We ordered the Mentaiko Pasta, a “spicy cod roe cream pasta” according to the menu. What came out was a creamy pasta with a bacon sauce, with a barely-noticeable bit of cod roe. My partner is pescatarian, and this is *always* a pescatarian dish, so we questioned why it contained pork. They looked closely at it, and said “yep, it's mentaiko pasta”, and walked away.
