Avere - Broad Channel

This was the most expensive meal I didn't enjoy in my adult life. I got the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. The Alfredo sauce was watery and the chicken was tasteless. Eventually the fruit flys found their way to my bread basket. The wine was good and cold at $15 a glass. I should've gone to the Chipotle up the road instead or hopped the train to Little Italy.

Common sense seems to elude them. I forget the exact order but the meal was some Pollo chicken and a Gelato dessert. The put both the meal and dessert in the same closed bag.... I've got a piping hot chicken meal on bottom and Gelato 3 inches above that which is 2/3 melted by the time I receive it.. Cause that makes sense, let's put ice cream in top of a steaming hot meal all enclosed in the same plastic bag. Thanks for the liquid Gelato, but tbh the dinner I ordered and the parts of the dessert I could salvage were actually quite good. Just stop putting hot and cold in the same bag..

Got take out and it was very good, however was charged $10 for an additional side! The meal beat the sticker shock on the bill.

The rating is based mainly on the service received. This night there was only one server but he seemed as though he couldn’t be bothered with our table. We were a table of 8. There were 2 other tables, which both only had parties of four. Barely greeted us. Passed the table several times with no acknowledgement. Had to ask for water. He finally came back after about 15 mins, he poured mine first, immediately I noticed something floating in it. He removed the water from the table and never came back with a drag glass for me nor did he provide water to the rest of my party (4/8). The food was the only redeeming quality. It was good. My colleagues had pasta which they said was delicious.

Food was very tasty for a hotel restaurant. Having spaghetti and meat balls and the Mt. Edna dishes. Beverages were good. Service was uninspired and the night we dined the atmosphere was kinda dead.
